“We receive more than we give with this relationship. It’s a blessing for us to experience the joy and gratitude of the families we support at Learning Gate.” ~ Pastor Todd
“Our preschool values our relationship with NBRC. We are thankful for their kind, compassionate members and are forever grateful for the church’s commitment, support and friendship. The church’s impact on some of the Learning Gate families warms my heart.” ~ Bridgewater LG Site Manager Joanne Fagan
North Branch Reformed Church and Learning Gate Preschool have had a relationship for over 30 years, but this year has been the most exciting! They have connected in so many ways to help children and families, it has been a true inspiration and blessing for all involved.
Learning Gate is located in Bridgewater and Raritan and it especially supports low income families. According to Executive Director Kathie Krauth “The school aspires to help every family and child they can and the people at North Branch Church have reached out to us to make a difference, too.”
People at NBRC have provided children’s clothes, painted classrooms, done landscaping, helped the children decorate cupcakes and have restored and provided classroom computers.
This year 7 Learning Gate families were “adopted” by teams or families at North Branch who support them with their challenges during the year. Through these deepened relationships beds, cribs, furniture, strollers, car seats, newborn baby items, toys, books, gift cards, clothes and most recently a much needed car were provided to these families.
This holiday season NBRC people purchased $1,700 in gift cards to go to needy families and the Sunday school children made 150 ornaments which were handed out to Learning Gate children.
